Meet Anna and Frankie. They had their first big portrait session. Although Mom tells me that she's taken over 1000 photographs of them since they were born about 3 months ago. At that rate they may develop PKS (AKA photographer's kid syndrome). They were so cute and very cooperative today for their shoot. Enjoy!
....and my blog has been neglected. I've been scouting new locations, finishing up some renovations and working in some shoots. I've started to get emails about sessions for the holidays and have been asked if I'll be doing some mini sessions. The answer is YES. I've not finalized all the details but will soon, so keep your eyes peeled.
I had a chance to do a session for a friend who is getting married next May. We had a fun time. Hope you enjoy.
One new location I scouted was some of the beautiful wineries we have right on our own backyard. This was about a 40 mile drive. But is was worth it. Unfortunately we were unable to partake in the spirits but maybe some day I'll get back there. The one we chose to visit was called Iron Gate winery and is part of the Haw River Wine Trail. Check out their site if you are interested. www.irongatevineyards.com These first two shots were shot at an abandon factory.
Ok I'm going to post some of what I've done with my walls. I'd LOVE to see what you all have done with your walls. Hope you enjoy!
This is 1 of 2 images. I have another of my other son framed just the same on the other side of my fire place. And kudos to my husband who made the frames for me. :-) It is a 16x16 linen textured print that was framed without glass.
This display is up along a wall in my family room (please excuse
the glare....I turned my flash off but still was getting glare from my
windows). It consists of 4 11x14 prints, 2 10x10 prints and a
10x20 storyboard.
So now that you've seen some of what I've done......it's YOUR turn. Send me pictures of your walls!

A new blog feature. I got this fabulous idea from another very inspiring photographer (http://www.marmaladephotography.com/blog/) and I'm so glad that she was kind enough to share her idea. Every once in a while I will ask a family to tell me what THEIR four favorite images are from their session and WHY. The key to this is the why they love the image. I'm so glad that I did this. I always know which images are people's favorites but I never know why. I have to say when I opened the email this AM and read the why's I was very touched. This is *WHY* I take pictures. THANKS Jeanie for participating in the first of what I hope are many more { In THEIR words }. I'm so glad that you loved your images.
So here goes.......Jeanie's four FAVORITE images and WHY she LOVES them. In HER words!
"This is the
best picture of Sean we have since he was a baby. Sean would smile and
laugh and take pretty good pictures up until he was about 18 months old
when the Autism kicked in. Ever since then, we have pictures of Sean
with a blank stare or his head turned because he didn't like having his
picture taken. I feel like Missy brought us back in time with
this shot. When I look at this photo, I see Sean our happy son, not
Sean the poster child for Autism. Words cannot express our gratitude
for capturing Sean at his best."
"I knew when Missy took this picture that it
would be one of my favorites. It is as if Heaven is shining down on
her. The sun beams on Kelly's hair beautifully. The color of her dress
just pops and I love how she is off-centered. This is our little girl
captured in time."
"Considering Cameron was in rare form that
day, I am amazed Missy was able to capture him not crying! This is
really cute and looks like he is enjoying the feel of the grass. The
large stump behind him shows what a little guy he is at this time in
his life. Our little country boy."
"This photo shows how very much in love we
are after all these years and all that we have been through. We are
soulmates and I feel Missy captured that in this picture. We have
gotten lots of compliments about this photo. Missy, you are a true
talent!"
Salem College. If you've never been there it is beautiful. I dragged the kids with me today to see if it would be a good location for kids/families. It only cost me $4.00 in bribes errr pay I mean. LOL Anyway hope that you enjoy.
I have to say that this captures how my kids are together (well most of the time when they are not trying to kill each other b/c so and so got whatever the other one wanted).
My oldest hamming it up for the camera.
This truly captures my little ones personality......he's a riot.
